Terms of Use

Relaxed Golf is a free online community where golfers can discover courses and places to play, find people to play with, share posts and activities, list and find golf equipment in the Marketplace, and connect with golf-related businesses. Membership of the Relaxed Golf community is free.

Relaxed Golf is a community platform. It helps people find and talk to each other, but it is not a club, a governing body, a booking service, a coach, or a guarantee of anyone's behaviour. Relaxed Golf and Simply Relaxed Golf CIC are separate organisations; these Terms cover only the Relaxed Golf community platform.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you are younger, a parent or guardian may contact us about access. You agree to provide accurate information when you register and to keep it accurate.

You may create one member account for yourself. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for everything that happens through your account. If you think someone has used your account without permission, contact us straight away.

To join, you register with an email address and a password and confirm your email using a one-time code we send you. You can also sign in with Google if you prefer. Your email is used to sign in and to send you service messages such as verification codes and notifications.

Membership of the Relaxed Golf community is free. We do not charge members to join, discover other members, post, join groups, use Looking to Play, or browse the Marketplace.

Your profile is how other members recognise you in the community. You choose what to share — for example your display name, a photo, an about-you note, your town or city, and your golf preferences such as experience level, play style, handicap and availability.

You are responsible for the information you share. Please keep it accurate and up to date, and do not share someone else's details. You can set how visible your profile is within the community, and you can edit or remove your information at any time from your profile and account settings.

Your profile is visible to other signed-in members of Relaxed Golf according to your visibility settings. It is not published to the public internet.

You can ask to connect with another member. If they accept, you become connected and can send private messages to each other. Messaging is only available between connected members.

You are responsible for your interactions with other members. Relaxed Golf does not check messages, does not guarantee that another member is who they claim to be, and is not responsible for what members say or do. Be yourself, be respectful, and use your judgement.

Looking to Play lets you say you'd like a game and roughly when and where, so other members can see it and express interest. If you arrange to meet and play, that arrangement is between you and the other member.

Relaxed Golf does not organise, vet, insure or guarantee any game, member or real-world meeting. You are responsible for your own safety, conduct and arrangements. Meet in public golf settings, use your judgement, and contact the relevant authorities if you have concerns.

Members can create and join groups around shared golf interests. Group creators and members are responsible for keeping their groups welcoming and respectful. Follow each group's rules and these Terms. Relaxed Golf may remove groups or content that break these Terms.

You can share posts and comments in the community. You are responsible for what you post. Relaxed Golf does not review posts before they appear, and is not responsible for member-generated content. We may remove content or take action under our moderation approach if something is reported or comes to our attention.

Members and businesses can list activities such as friendly games or get-togethers. Taking part is your choice and your responsibility. Relaxed Golf does not organise or guarantee activities, and is not responsible for what happens at them.

Golf Places is a community catalogue of courses, ranges, simulators and other places to play and practise. Listings may be suggested by members, added by us, or linked to a business. Relaxed Golf is not the venue and does not endorse or guarantee any place, its facilities, prices, availability or accuracy. Contact the venue directly and check before you travel.

Golf-related businesses can list themselves on Relaxed Golf. A business listing may be public so that anyone can see it, and the business may also have a presence within the member community. Business managers are responsible for keeping their listing accurate.

A business may claim an existing listing or create a new one, and may manage who can act on its behalf. Some businesses may choose a paid subscription plan that offers additional features; those subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Relaxed Golf membership remains free for members regardless of business subscriptions.

Relaxed Golf does not verify that every business is reputable, qualified or insured, and does not guarantee any business, its services or its claims unless a specific verification has been carried out. Always use your own judgement and do your own checks before using a business.

The Marketplace is for members to list and find golf equipment. Listings show a price, but Relaxed Golf does not process any payments for Marketplace items and takes no fee. Any payment for an item is arranged between the buyer and seller directly.

Relaxed Golf does not guarantee any listing, seller or item, and is not a party to any sale. Be careful: check items before paying, watch for scams, and never send money you cannot afford to lose. If a listing looks dishonest or unsafe, please report it.

You keep the intellectual property in anything you create and share on Relaxed Golf — your posts, photos, comments and other content. By sharing it within the community, you give Relaxed Golf permission to display it within the community for the purpose of running the service.

You confirm that you have the right to share anything you post, including photos, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights. Relaxed Golf is not responsible for member-generated content.

The Relaxed Golf name, logo and editorial content (such as blog articles) belong to Relaxed Golf or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.

When using Relaxed Golf you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone;
• post hateful, discriminatory, sexual, violent or otherwise harmful content;
• impersonate another person or pretend to be someone you are not;
• post false, misleading or fraudulent content, or attempt to scam others;
• spam other members, send unwanted messages, or use messaging to mass-contact strangers;
• share anyone else's private information without their permission;
• post anything illegal or that encourages illegal activity;
• misuse the service, attempt to break it, or try to access data you should not have;
• use Relaxed Golf to advertise or promote in a way that is not part of the community's features.

Businesses must also keep their listings honest and must not misuse business features to spam or mislead.

You can report a member, post, listing or business that you believe breaks these Terms. Relaxed Golf may review reports and may remove content, restrict or suspend accounts, or remove listings. We may act without notice where we believe it is necessary.

Relaxed Golf does not actively monitor everything members do, and is not obliged to review content before it appears. We rely on reports and on our community to help keep Relaxed Golf welcoming. Moderation is a service to the community, not a guarantee that all problems will be caught.

We may suspend or remove your access if you break these Terms, if your activity harms the community, or to protect the service or other members. We may also remove content or listings. Where we can, we will tell you why, but this may not always be possible.

You can close and erase your account from the "Danger zone" in My Account. Erasure anonymises your profile and removes your personal, member-side records. Some records — such as messages in another member's conversation, or records kept for security, moderation or billing — may be retained so the community and other members are not disrupted. If you manage a business, you will need to transfer or remove your business listing before you can erase your account, so a live business is not left without an owner.

Relaxed Golf may link to other websites and services — for example a business's own website or a Golf Place's booking page. Those are run by others and Relaxed Golf is not responsible for them. When you leave Relaxed Golf, the other site's terms and privacy practices apply.

Some features use third-party providers: for example, signing in with Google, viewing maps (OpenStreetMap), processing business subscription payments (Stripe), and delivering images. These providers operate under their own terms and policies.

We try to keep Relaxed Golf running smoothly, but we do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at all times. We may change, add or remove features, and we may update these Terms from time to time. We will do our best to let members know about significant changes.

Relaxed Golf is provided as a community service. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Relaxed Golf is not liable for:

• the conduct, accuracy or suitability of other members, businesses or listings;
• any real-world meeting, game or arrangement made through the community;
• the content members post;
• any Marketplace sale or payment between members;
• losses arising from the service being unavailable, delayed or changed.

This does not affect rights you may have under law that cannot be excluded.

Relaxed Golf is operated by Philippa Hodgson, trading as Relaxed Golf. Relaxed Golf is a sole trader business, not a separate limited company, partnership or other incorporated entity. Our contact address is Apartment 3, Belvedere Mansions, Lonsdale Road, Scarborough.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or connected with these Terms or your use of Relaxed Golf.
